Back when the Grand Palace wasn’t an aquarium, it hosted many a singing act! And back when Carrie Underwood had just finished American Idol, and was just getting started, she decided to play Branson. From what I had heard, she sold out in roughly 2 hours, and that the demand was so much, the staff at the palace couldn’t even keep up with all the calls. Carrie was quite phenomenal and everyone wanted to see her in concert. She still holds the record here for the fastest sell out.

I was working at a Restaurant across the street the day of the show, and so many celebrities showed up to see the show. As well as several previous idol winners who were from Branson. Cars surrounded the then, 4000 seat venue, and she performed for over 2 hours to the sold out crowd. I must say I miss the ole Grand Palace. A place hosting stars like Kenny Rogers, Glenn Campbell, Loretta Lynn, and even Bill Cosby. See my other articles on this now re-incarnated Majesty.
