Bringing Branson to you for 2022!

Top ten stars you would of never thought played Branson

Top 10 Stars you would of never thought played

We’ve had  a lot of stars play here over the years. And you would wonder how their booking agent got them here. Were they looking at numbers, did the Star make the decision themselves. Was Branson in between the next big place they’d play and it was a convenient place to pick up some doe. Who knows! But here is a great list to cut your teeth on. Brought to you by Bransonisfun.com.

1)Johnny Cash-he had theater here, believe it or not, and you could go and watch him play almost any day. The only problem is it was way off the 76 strip, at the mansion theater. He left behind a few trinkets here, but didn’t fair so well.

2)Anita Bryant-I’m not sure why she was here. I know she was connected to wars, and Orange juice, but I’m not sure what here claim to fame was. Her marketing highlighted her with hoop earings and a very short haircut. She was next to where Jim Stafford is now. The show lasted maybe a season.

3)John Davidson-a very handsome actor from Hollywood. With shows like That’s incredible, Love Boat,Fantasy Island, and the like. I think he did about two seasons back in the day.

4)Don Knotts- The Mayberry show-Barnie came and reprized his roll as America’s favorite Deputy. Not sure it really drew much fanfare and did a few spots within one season at either Jim Staffords or the Carvel theater.

5)Jim Nabors-not really a fan, but a lot of people were. And his shows did do well for a while. But not really sure Branson was really his market. More of a Vegas Kind of performance which really isn’t the Branson thing. A few drop ins here and there and he was gone.

6)T. G. Shepperd-i’m a big fan of this guy. A super nice guy who gave Branson a real college try. But not many people showed up to his show in the early 90’s at RCCT but he took it in great stride. I’m sure in other show markets, he does incredible. But he is a very humble guy.

7)Roddy Mcdowell-not sure he did very well, his tour was short, and fast.

8) Willie Nelson-yepp he played here and did very well. He was paying some back taxes to Uncle sam, and sold his theater out many times.

9)Collective Soul-played the grand palace and nearly sold the place out.

10)Styx-Played the Palace as well, and rocked the house.
