During the early 90’s Willie had a bit of a tax problem. In the sum of over 20 Million.During this time, he negotiated hard, and got it down to 6 Million. When the IRS raided his house, (to show him they meant business) he saved his trusty guitar. His next step was to negotiate and come to Branson and open a theater, to pay his massive tax debt. The legacy theater behind Olive Garden, was his spot. He played just about the whole year, and paid back his massive tax debt, and helped many people in the meantime. He resided at Point Royale the famed gold resort on Highway 65 and played his shows during the day. The locals gave him great reviews, and the show was outstanding.
