Haunted and Condemned Hotels of Branson, mo
This is a hotel town. Branson has boasted incredible feats of Hospitality in the last 20 years. With record numbers of travelers stopping to put their body in a bed. And in a market so robust, casualties come. And here is a list of those audacious accomadators.
1. The Thunderbird Inn-in its final stages the Thunderbird in housed people of all walks of life. Really a boutique hotel, it was quite fancy in the 1990’s, but by 2008 it had scene better days. And the wrecking ball came a calling.
2.Ben’s wishing well-if the names here are any consolation Ben’s wishing well is what Branson was made off, before all the franchises came in. Ben’s was an atrium style hotel or Spanish style with a courtyard in the middle of all the rooms. Also boasted a Mexican restaurant on the premises. Surveyer’s showed up in 2007 and off Ben’s went, into a vacant lot.
3.Fiddler’s Inn-Demoed to the ground as Management were cookers as they say. (cooking methamphetamine) this lovely rustic hotel had seen better years.
4.Blue Bayou Inn-I loved this little spot. Hit by the 2012 tornado their wasn’t much left standing of this place. It had several layers of rooms, as it was built on a hill. It also carried the blue Cajun colors, and courtyard appearance
5. Amerihost Inn & Suits-this was a de-franchise as the hotel was sold, gutted on the inside and resold. Its the first hotel in town on your left.
6.Melody Lane Inn-140 rooms for the budget traveler, the tornado in 2012 got this one two. Rooms were spread out over 3.17 acres, and resided on the side of a hill. A golf cart carried people to breakfast, and up and down the hill. Within walking distance to most shows and shopping this was a gem.
7. Georgetown Inn-the owner of this Mom and Pop style hotel, was considered the King of Condemned Branson. Specializing in hotels on their last legs, this hotel was demoed in 2010. 8.Caprice Motor Inn-located on highway 76 next to the Helicopter tours, this hotel had more speed bumps than a subdivision. Painted bright yellow at times, this hotel could not be missed. Hit by the storm as well in 2012, the owner, took the settlement and ran.
9The Palace Inn-located next to the Grand Palace (the Grand Lady) is now a Clarion. New owners choosing to Franchise chose the clarion name to continue.
10.Red Roof Inn/Days Inn-originaly owned by Jaspers enterprises, and almost 600 rooms of the marketplace. These two mammoth properties closed around the same time. Days inn having 422 rooms and Red roof having almost 200 these properties had seen better days. Days Inn having the most ground floor rooms in Branson was a steal of a deal. With a huge pool complex and play area for the kids, and a flat parking area, this was a must have.
11. The windsor inn-has had many challenges, and is now under a renovation, but has been closed for a while. We are hoping for good things at this property.
12. Branson Plaza-closed many moons ago, tenants complained of bed bugs, fire hazards, and all kinds of things. Closed by the city never to reopen.
