What’s it like to be stalked by Ferris wheel in Branson

This is a funny story, or strange story if you will. But it goes to show you that the world is a very small place. It was a magical day the first day my wife walked into my office at a small hotel I was managing. I took to her rather quickly and thought she was very very beautiful and attractive and someone that I would want to ask out. But when you’re interviewing for jobs that’s not always the best strategy in choosing employees. What had drawn me to my wife was her application. It was majestic, magnificent, and probably the best application I had ever seen. After several phone calls to her dorm room in a rambunctious conversation with her roommate. I finally got in touch with her and invited her over to the hotel that I was managing for an interview. She was one of the most Jenny wine suite and nicest people I’ve ever met. So how does this fit in with our story, well I’m getting to that and it’s an interesting one on top of that.

My wife and I were married obviously, a few years later in 2007 on April 14. We decided to go to Chicago on our vacation, and Chicago was magnificent as well. While we were there we were attracted to an area of Chicago resting on Lake Michigan called Navy peer. It wasn’t really that busy time a year, and it was downcast, and cold and we just had really tiny windbreakers to wear and ride the rides. There was an incredible ride there, and it was a staple of Chicago, it was their Ferris wheel. As we went up to the gate I asked for the deluxe car, which was handled dryly by the ticket taker as he didn’t think I was really that funny. And I thought today’s going to be a great day work and have a great ride on this Ferris wheel and this will be the last IC of this Ferris wheel. My wife and high had one of the first digital cameras that ever came out, it was a silver thingy with maybe one button to push and maybe some adjustments, and it took some incredible cardboard looking pictures. The interesting thing about these pictures, is they all turned out to be very drab and dry without much of a light source considering winter in Chicago on Lake Michigan literally has no light. It has a lighthouse resting off in the horizon that looks very interesting from the top of that Ferris will. Fast-forward to 2015 and my wife and I discovered that I knew Ferris wheel is coming to town. We don’t think much of it we just understand that the tracks theme park system here in Branson, is bringing in a Ferris wheel. To our dismay later on we find out that this same Ferris wheel that we rode in Chicago has now been imported to our small little town of Branson Missouri. So that folks is how your stalked by a Ferris wheel. You visit Chicago from one town love their city embrace their Ferris wheel, you go back to your town and the Ferris will loves you so much it decides to come to Branson and live with you. On April 14 my wife and I’s 10 year anniversary we decided to go and ride this Ferris wheel and relive the old memories. Thank you for reading this blog and down below are my wife and eyes plans to spend our 10 year anniversary in our favorite hometown Branson Missouri.

Branson Anniversary-what my wife and I will do for our 10 year

My wife and I have been together for 14 years, and this year married for 10. And we are excited. Of all the crazy things, we are not able to go back to Chicago, so Chicago has come to us. At least part way anyway. In 2007 on April 14th, my wife and I rode this amazing Ferris wheel. And it just so happens it’s been stalking us. That’s right, it has been moved to Branson. Last year, the tracks family fun parks, brought the very same Ferris Wheel from Navy peer brought it here, and rebuilt it. So on our Grand 10 year Anniversary we will ride it again. We’ve had other opportunities to ride it you see, but we’re waiting on that special day.

What Hotel would we stay at, if we did’t live in Branson? Stone Castle Hotel & Resort-spacious rooms, Themed Suits, a jacuzzi Hot tub in each of their great pool areas. All inside corridor and a phenomenal breakfast. We also might catch a movie at the Imax, or do some aggressive retailing at the Tanger Mall or the Landing.

Where to go Poco Loco over Mexican food in Branson, mo

Where to go Poco Loco for Mexican food in Branson, mo

Like a lot of things in Branson, we have some of the Best Mexican food. It can easily be divided into upscale to Mid scale.  First off, I really love Cantina Loredo. Located on the Branson Landing overlooking the majestic fountains, you can always have dinner with a flame in your face. Wether inside or outside. They offer upscale fine dining Mexican cuisine. From hand made guacomolee at your table, to vegetarian enchiladas. Their chips are great and have a gourmet feel about them.

Chip Rating: 5 chips

QDOBA I was so happy when Qdoba came t town. There is such a variety here and they offer all the hot, (no pun intended) Mexican trends. Like tacos with different types of spicy Chicken Vegetarian tacos, and so much more. They are located on the landing as well, and are a must try!

Chip Rating: 5 Chips

Moe’s Southwest Grill-lots to offer here, with clever names of all their food. Like the Close talker, from Seinfeld, and many more. Very high on the transparency list, as they make the food right there. And you can have it just about any way you want. Guacamole is offered as well, and cheese dip, as you work your way through the conveyer belt. Located right in front of Price Chopper on 76.

Chip Rating: 4 and 1/2 Chips

Tequilas over off of Gretna near Summer Winds-is  a great place. With the closest Mexican food to traditional in town. Prices are very economical for lunch and the chips and dip are very good.

Chip Rating: 4 Chips

Casa Fuentes-they have a great Taco Salad, whichever way you have it, it is fantastic. Their cheese dip is great, all the way around, as well as service. And they are located right next to an antique mall as well.

Chip Rating 4 and 1/2 Chips

10 signs your hotel is kicking the Bucket-Branson hotels

free Newsletter weekly with tons of Branson deals

There are always 10 signs your hotel is kicking the bucket, and you know, I love the Hotel business, no doubt about it. And one of the interesting things about the hotel business, is things can go South fast. After a hotel is built within the first 6 years, depending on construction things can start to break down. And if there not attended to, break down even further. And eventually the owner wants to sell and sell fast. The owner that comes in usually wants to capitalize via sweat equity, and wear things down even more. So here are 10 signs that the Hotel is on the way out.

1)Business is down-Once business begins to dip, its a good idea, to get it going again. Either through promotions, contacting old groups, customers, and local businesses, or prepare for the worst. If your intent isn’t on increasing the business again, start cutting costs.

2)The employees are running the place, and spending some of their own money. I’ve seen managers and employees paying for things out of their own pockets. This isn’t good. It means on the supply side that the owners or property management company isn’t doing their job.

3)You can’t meet payroll demands-When payroll day shows up, and the checks are either bouncing, or you have to tell employees that no check is there, it can get hecktick, so always keep the doors open both ways withe employees.

4)Linens and things are being recycled-many times new owners will do this as well. They will make a judgement call that linens don’t need to be replaced, and thats a bad call.

5)You’ve gone extended stay-when you didn’t mean too-employees start noticing people hanging out longer than expected. That’s when you notice deals being made  for local people, with no housing to stay longer.

6)The City is leaning on you-the city likes for things to look a certain way, espceically when it comes to electrical, and the outside of your buidlings. If not, they will send the fire department your way about once a week. Hello fire department, would you like something to drink.

7)Your curb appeal has no more curb-the front door of your property and the face are in bad shape. This is really the first thing your customer sees when they arrive, and may drive away.

8)Ownership is changing hands constantly-in the hotel business there is always a new owner right around the corner, and usually not the right one.

9)The pool hasn’t been open for a while-the pool closes itself down. you look over and the pool has 3 feet of water in it, and maybe a bird or two, and there not the kinds of birds that swim.

10)Expedia,Travelocity,Orbitz,and Booking.com have all pulled out-These guys are like out of town guests and if they have stopped booking your property from their residence watch out, they know something is up.
